LSC Tennis Teams selected for regional play

Nine tennis teams from the Lone Star Conference have been selected to participate in the 2008 NCAA Division II Central Region Tennis Tournament, which begins May 9 with first-round play.

Six women's teams - Abilene Christian, Northeastern State, East Central, Central Oklahoma, Tarleton State and Cameron - are in the NCAA championship bracket, while three men's squads - ACU, CU and Southeastern Oklahoma - are continuing their seasons as well.

ACU's women earned the LSC's automatic bid by winning the league's team championship and will host part of the tournament which includes NSU and ECU, while UCO, TSU and CU are playing in San Antonio, Texas, with host Incarnate Word.

On the men's side, CU is hosting SOSU, while ACU is playing in San Antonio, Texas, against UIW.

The winner of each tournament advances to the championships in Houston, Texas, May 14-17.  The event is part of the Spring Championships Festival and consists of a 16-team single-elimination tournament.
