Softball Weekly Award Winners Announced
Four student-athletes were named Lone Star Conference Softball Players of the Week for their performances last week, league officials announced today.
LSC SOFTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
Co-LSC North Hitter
Bailey Mathes, Southeastern Oklahoma State University
Jr., Short Stop, Ardmore, Okla./Ardmore HS
Mathes helped SOSU to a 3-1 record against UCO and clinch
its ninth Lone Star Conference North Division championship.
She hit .545 last week, posting an OBP of .615 and slugging
.818. She had a home run and two RBI, but scored four of the
16 runs that SOSU scored.
Sammi Adams, Cameron University
Sr., Centerfield, Poteau, Okla., Carl Albert State College
Adams had a great final week of regular season action as
she helped CU to split their series with ECU and clinch a berth in
the LSC Championship tournament. She hit an impressive .462 on the
week with a .500 on-base percentage. Adams is now batting a
team-high .396 on the season with a team-high 86 hits. Cameron's
previous record for hits in a season stood at 72, and Adams
eclipsed that two weeks ago. Half of her hits were homeruns giving
her an incredible 1.154 slugging percentage for the week. Adams
also stole 3 bases to give her 30 on the season. She also recorded
11 putouts and 1 sacrifice hit.

Jami McAdoo, Southeastern Oklahoma State University
Jr., Pitcher, Rush Springs, Okla./Rush Springs HS
McAdoo picked up both wins in SOSU's sweep of UCO last
Saturday. With the wins, SOSU claimed its ninth LSC-N
championship. McAdoo posted a 0.95 ERA for the week,
scattering 11 hits over 14.2 innings and allowing just two earned
runs. She struck out seven hitters and held opponents to a
.196 batting average. She picked up a shutout of UCO, and
turned around and handed Molly Shivers her first loss of the
season.

Jessica Johnson, Abilene Christian University
Sr., Designated Hitter, Canyon Country, Calif./Canyon Country High
School
Johnson broke out of a year-long slump last week as ACU
split a doubleheader with Midwestern State and then won two of
three against West Texas A&M to go 3-2 on the week. ... Johnson
hit .643 on the week with four RBI, all of them coming in
Saturday's 12-5 win over the Lady Buffs.
LSC South Pitcher
Brooke Saulters, Tarleton State University
Sr., Pitcher, Waco, Texas/Midway HS
Saulters had a perfect game going Sunday until a hitter
beat out a throw to first with one out in the top of the seventh
inning broke up the feat. Saulters came back with two straight
strikeouts to hand the TexAnns a 4-0 victory and a share of the
Lone Star Conference South Division title. Saulters recorded
three wins this weekend as Tarleton swept Texas A&M-Kingsville,
and she allowed just one earned run in 17.0 innings of work to have
a 0.53 earned run average. Saulters allowed just eight hits
while walking none and striking out 12 batters. Opponents hit
just .140 off the senior over the weekend.
