Softball: Four players honored
Four student-athletes earned Lone Star Conference Softball Player of the Week honors for their performances last week, league officials announced today.
LSC SOFTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
LSC North Hitter
Aimee Bohannan, Northeastern State University
Sr., OF, Owasso, Okla./Owasso HS
Bohannan had a hot bat at the CBS Insurance Classic in Abilene,
Texas over the weekend. Bohannan was 12-20, with three
doubles, three home runs and eight RBI's. Against the Savage
Storm, Bohannan had a career high four hits, four RBI's and a home
run in the RiverHawks 7-4 victory.
LSC North Pitcher
Katie Petersen, Midwestern State University
So., Pitcher, Plano, Texas/Plano West HS
Petersen led Midwestern State to the Texas Woman's Tournament
championship by going 3-0 last weekend. The sophomore right-hander
from Plano yielded two runs and eight hits while striking out 17
and walking three in 16 innings of work. Petersen weaved a pair of
run-rule shutouts as she blanked Henderson State 12-0 and West
Texas A&M 9-0 in five innings. She also came on to hurl three
hitless inning to earn a 3-2 decision over Central Missouri Sunday
afternoon. Petersen limited the opposition to a .143 batting
average against.
LSC South Hitter
Rebecca Quinones, Eastern New Mexico University
So., Second Base, Gilbert, Ariz./Gilbert HS
Quinones batted a team-best .765 and led the squad with six
doubles, 13 hits and 12 runs batted in. She also posted an
incredible 1.294 slugging percentage. In three of last week's six
games, she recorded three multiple RBI games and four multiple-hit
games

Natalie Woodside, Eastern New Mexico University
Jr., Pitcher, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada/Vernon College/ED
Freehan Catholic HS
Woodside posted a 3-0 record over 13 innings with no runs or extra
base hits allowed. She fanned 11 batters while allowing just a
single walk and opposing hitters registered just a .174 batting
average against her.
