For the second time in four years, Angelo State will play in the NCAA Division II Softball Championship after a 4-0 win over St. Mary's in the second title game of the South Central Regional Tournament.

ASU rattled off six consecutive victories to capture the regional title after dropping its opening game on Thursday. The Rambelles fell to Northeastern State, 6-0 in 10 innings, before topping Western New Mexico, Midwestern State, Tarleton State, St. Edward's and STMU twice in the tournament at the ASU Softball Complex in San Angelo.

Rambelle junior pitcher Kari Galm was honored as the tournament's Most Outstanding Player by earning her fourth win of the event with a three-hit shutout of the Rattlers in the deciding game.

The Rambelles (52-11) advance to the Championship in Akron, Ohio, and will play C.W. Post, the Northeast Region champion, on Thursday at 2:30 p.m. (EST).

ASU was one of five LSC teams competing in the regional. LSC champion MSU, the regional's top seed, won its first game against Texas A&M-Kingsville on Thursday before falling to SEU on Friday and ASU on Saturday to end its season.

TSU began with a 5-4 loss to SEU on Thursday, came back to beat TAMUK on Friday and NSU on Saturday before falling to ASU.

NSU beat ASU on Thursday, before dropping to STMU on Friday and TSU on Saturday.

TAMUK was defeated by MSU on Thursday and TSU on Friday.
