SSC: WTAMU's Keinan honored

West Texas A&M's Itamar Keinan earned Southwest Soccer Conference Player of the Week honors for his performances last week, league officials announced.

MSU to host first two rounds of NCAA Division II Championship
No. 3 Midwestern State was selected to play in and host the first two rounds of the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championships Super Region One.
      MSU will host the four-team event this Thursday and Saturday.  The Mustangs play Incarnate Word at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.  Fort Lewis and Metro State open the tournament at 4 p.m. with the winners of each game playing in the second round on Saturday at 5 p.m.

Keinan scored three goals and added two assist, as WT defeated Eastern New Mexico and #1 Midwestern State this weekend. Against the top ranked Mustangs, Keinan scored two goals, including the game winner in the 105:00 minute.

The ENMU men's soccer team has concluded its 2008 season...

Midwestern State
The Mustangs clinched their third-straight Southwest Soccer Conference championship with a 3-0 win over Eastern New Mexico last Thursday...The Mustangs have claimed conference titles in seven of nine season since the Doug Elder began in 2000...MSU slipped to No. 3 in the NSCAA/adidas national poll, but have carried a top-10 national ranking for the last 18 reporting periods...The Mustangs have been ranked in the last 31 NSCAA/adidas national polls dating back to Oct. 3, 2006. MSU is 44-5-3 (.894) as a ranked side during that time...MSU set a school record with its 15th-straight win over Eastern New Mexico last Thursday...For the second-straight season, the Mustangs dropped their regular-season finale to West Texas A&M...MSU plays host to the NCAA Division II Men's Soccer Championship's opening two rounds this weekend. The Mustangs are 4-0 against the tournament as they are 2-0 against Incarnate Word and 1-0 against Fort Lewis and Metro State...The Mustangs are 6-2-3 (.682) all-time in NCAA Division II postseason play...Nick Auditore scored in each of the Midwestern State's two matches as the Mustangs split contests at Eastern New Mexico. The junior from Phoenix has scored in each of MSU's last five games and is second on the squad with nine goals. Auditore collected a loose ball in the box against ENMU and blasted in a goal, then headed in a cross from Craig Sutherland against West Texas A&M. Both goals gave the Mustangs a 2-0 advantage...

The #24 Buffs improved their overall record to 12-5 on the season with a 6-2 mark in the Southwest Soccer Conference, as they defeated Eastern New Mexico, 4-0, and #1 Midwestern State, 3-2, in double overtime.
