The Lone Star Conference will host a basketball preseason media day on Wednesday, October 1, in Bartlesville, Okla.

      With the 2008-09 season quickly approaching, the LSC men's and women's basketball coaches will meet with the media from 11:30 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.  The event begins with lunch followed by the announcement of preseason polls and players of the year.  Then each of the LSC head coaches will appear before the assembled media to speak and take questions about the upcoming season.  Coaches will be available for one-on-one interviews as well.

      The event will be broadcast via broadband for no charge at www.lonestarconference.tv.  Fans and media members that are not able to attend are encouraged to participate by sending questions for the coaches to the conference office via e-mail at lscmedia@yahoo.com. Please include your name, affiliation and question.

      After a successful inaugural event, this will be the second year of a three-year agreement to play the LSC Men's and Women's Basketball Championship in Bartlesville.  The 2009 Championship is set for March 4-8 at Bartlesville's Bruin Fieldhouse.

      The 2008-09 LSC basketball season begins in mid-November with non-conference contests before the conference schedule tips off December 6.  Regular season play continues through February 28.

      In 2008, West Texas A&M claimed the women's LSC crown and Central Oklahoma won the men's LSC championship.  The Bronchos also won the South Central Regional and advanced to the NCAA Elite Eight.
