Elkerson, Bishop tabbed for weekly honors
Abilene Christian's Mike Elkerson and Central Oklahoma's Tyler Bishop were named Lone Star Conference Baseball Players of the Week for their performances last week, the league office announced today.

Elkerson had a big week for the Wildcats, helping them to a 6-0
week as part of a current 11-game winning streak. Elkerson
was 13 for 24 in the six games with 12 runs scored, three doubles,
one triple, three home runs and 10 RBI. In Saturday's 5-3 win
over East Central, Elkerson capped a Wildcat comeback from a 3-0
deficit with a two-run, walk-off home run in the bottom of the
seventh to give ACU a 5-3 lead.

Tyler Bishop, University of Central Oklahoma
Jr., Pitcher, Edmond, Okla./North HS
Bishop was brilliant on the mound en route to tossing a
nine-inning, complete-game, one-hit shutout as UCO topped
Southwestern Oklahoma, 6-0. The junior from Edmond allowed just one
base hit, a single in the second inning while retiring the side in
order in five innings and struck out a season-high eight batters to
record his second victory of the season to help UCO complete a
four-game conference sweep of the Bulldogs.
