Baseball: Top seeds advance in first round of LSC Tournament
The top seeds all posted wins in first-round action Saturday at the 2007 Lone Star Conference Postseason Baseball Championship Tournament, taking place at Crutcher Scott Field on the Abilene Christian University campus in Abilene, Texas.
Angelo State, the tournament's No. 3 seed, topped No. 4 seed Southwestern Oklahoma in the tournament opener. Next, No. 2 seed Central Oklahoma defeated fifth-seed Southeastern Oklahoma 6-1, while host ACU beat No. 6 Texas A&M-Kingsville, 9-2, in the nightcap.
The four-day, six-team, double elimination tournament continues Sunday with games at 11 a.m., 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.
SOSU plays TAMUK at 11 a.m., while ACU and SWOSU square off at 3 p.m., and UCO and ASU meet in the night game.
