Baseball: LSC Tournament set for Abilene
The top six Lone Star Conference baseball teams will meet in Abilene, Texas, this weekend for the annual LSC Postseason Baseball Championship Tournament.
The tournament includes six teams for the second straight year. The double-elimination event will start Saturday and run through Tuesday.
All games will be played at Crutcher Scott Field on the campus of Abilene Christian University. Tickets are $10 per day or an all-tournament pass is $15 from Monday-Wednesday, and then is $25 each through Saturday. After that, tickets will be sold for $10 per person for all three games for Sunday and Monday and $5 per person for the championship game on Tuesday.
LSC South Division champion ACU will be the top seed for the tournament, while North Division champion Central Oklahoma is the No. 2 seed. Angelo State is seeded third, followed by Southwestern Oklahoma at No. 4, Southeastern Oklahoma at No. 5 and Texas A&M-Kingsville at No. 6.
Play begins Saturday with ASU going against SWOSU in Game 3 at 11 a.m. UCO will meet SOSU at 3 p.m. in Game 2, while host ACU faces TAMUK in Game 1 at 7 p.m.
Saturday's order was adjusted so that host ACU could play at 7 p.m. but the tournament will revert back to the normal game schedule on Sunday for the remainder of the games.
