LSC recognizes Student Athletic Trainers
A total of 45 student athletic trainers were honored by the Lone Star Conference on Friday as the league announced its annual Athletic Training Student Academic Award winners for 2007-08.
Each academic year, the LSC recognizes student athletic trainers who devote countless hours to assist with the operation of the athletics department while also finding the time to excel in the classroom. To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student athletic trainers must carry at least a 3.20 grade point average with a minimum of 24 semester hours at the nominating institution. The qualifications mirror those required of student-athletes to gain LSC All-Academic recognition.
This year's recipients represent nine of the LSC's 15 member institutions, with Southwestern Oklahoma recording a league-high 12 honorees. Angelo State added 11 recipients, while East Central had 7, Tarleton State six and Eastern New Mexico four. Texas A&M-Commerce had two student athletic trainers recognized, while Midwestern State, Texas A&M-Kingsville and Texas Woman's each had one.
