Baseball: Three LSC teams selected for regional

Angelo State, West Texas A&M, and Texas A&M-Kingsville were selected for the 2016 NCAA Division II Baseball Championship.

Colorado Mesa is the top seed and host for the South Central Regional at Suplizio Field in Grand Junction, Colo., May 19-23.

LSC Champion ASU is the third seed, while LSC Tournament Champion WT is fourth, and TAMUK fifth.

CMU takes on the No. 6 seed Lubbock Christian in the opening round of the double-elimination tournament.

St. Edward's, the No. 2 seed, plays TAMUK, and ASU faces WT in the first round.

Regional champions will advance to the double-elimination championship finals May 28-June 4 at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.  This year marks the 49th annual championship, and the eighth consecutive year that the finals have been held in Cary.
