LSC SOFTBALL PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
HITTER
Roxy Chapa, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, FR, Catcher, McAllen, Texas, Sharyland HS
Chapa closed out the week with career numbers as she is now the Javelinas all-time leader with 52 RBI in a single season, set a new LSC single game record with four doubles, and moved to No. 3 in program history for most home runs in a single season with 10 dingers. Chapa concluded the week with a .650 batting average, 11 RBI, one homer, and a slugging percentage of 1.050 in six games. In the four-game series against Tarleton State, the freshman backstop went 11-for-15 in the batter's box and had an on base percentage of .750. The McAllen native thrived in the doubleheader on April 16 where she went 6-for-7 at the plate, crossing six batters and recorded four doubles. With all six games accounted for, Chapa had zero strikeouts and zero errors.

Rima led the A&M-Commerce softball team to a 3-1 series win over Angelo State in a crucial Lone Star Conference weekend. Rima was lights out for the Lions on the weekend allowing just two runs in 15 innings. She opened the weekend with a complete game four-hitter with seven strikeouts in a no decision after allowing just one run. She followed with her second complete game of the weekend this time recording eight strikeouts and again allowing just one run. This time she came away with the win after the Lions scored four runs in a 4-1 win. She ended the weekend with a save. Rima entered with two runners on in a 6-3 game with no outs. She emerged from trouble allowing no runs and getting two strikeouts to preserve the 6-3 win and the series for the Lions. Rima is third in the LSC in strikeouts with 121.
