West Texas A&M won its fourth consecutive men's title and Midwestern State captured its sixth women's crown at the Lone Star Conference Cross Country Championships held Saturday at Centennial Park in Commerce, Texas.

WOMEN
Geoffrey Kipchumba led the Buffs to a school-record 21 points and captured the individual title for the second straight year. Kipchumba covered the 8,000-meter course in 25:07.3 followed by Blake Whalen in second place (25:07.9) and Owen Hind third (25:08).
Texas A&M-Commerce finished second with 80 points, Tarleton State was third with 101 and Eastern New Mexico fourth (118). Texas A&M-Kingsville placed fifth followed by Angelo State, Cameron, UT Permian Basin and Western New Mexico.
WT’s Hind was tabbed Newcomer of the Year, while the Javelinas Jose Ventura earned Freshman of the Year honors.
MSU claimed its second title in the last three years with 51 points as five runners earned all-conference honors. Bridget Reilly led the Mustangs effort placing fourth on the 6K course with a time of 22:43.70, while Sara Smith placed seventh with a time of 22:59.60.
ENMU finished second with 58 points, WT was third with 86 and TSU fourth (101). WNMU placed fifth followed by ASU, A&M-C, TAMUK and UTPB.
The Lady Buffs Nikolina Hrelec claimed the individual title in 22:01.7 to earn Freshman of the Year acclaim. The Greyhounds Mercy Rotich finished second (22:07.1) to earn Newcomer of the Year honors.
The top 15 finishers in each race earned All-LSC runner honors.
