LSC Volleyball: Three pick up weekly honors

LSC VOLLEYBALL
Angelo State and Tarleton State remain tied atop the Lone Star Conference standings with identical 9-1 league records.  LSC action continues this week with 14 matches on the schedule.
    LSC volleyball teams are 123-101 overall this season.  The squads are currently 15-9 combined versus Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference teams, and 23-9 against the Heartland Conference, which are the other leagues in the NCAA South Central Region.

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK
OFFENSIVE
Mallory Blauser, Angelo State University, SR, Round Rock, Texas, Round Rock Christian Academy
Blauser continues to play a main role in the Belles attack as they swept both opponents this week. The senior led the ASU offense this week with 29 total kills averaging 4.83 kills per set and a .400 hitting percentage. Blauser is currently second in the conference dropping in 4.42 kills per set.  Also coming through big from the service line for ASU this week, she tallied four aces. Defensively, the Round Rock, Texas native chalked up 15 digs and five blocks against the opponents.

DEFENSIVE
Addison Semer, Midwestern State University, JR, Bastrop, Texas, Bastrop HS
Semer averaged 1.55 blocks per set following a career-best 11-block performance against Lubbock Christian to become just the fifth Mustang in school history to record at least 10 blocks in a match. Semer’s 11 blocks tied for the third most in school history while her 10 block assists tied for second in the program record books, both one shy from matching school records. Semer’s play at the net held opponents to a .122 percentage on the week with St. Edward’s hitting an MSU opponent low this season with a .027 clip. The Bastrop native added four blocks in a win over the Hilltoppers while recording a pair of stuffs against Texas A&M-Kingsville.

SETTER
Jordyn Keamo, Tarleton State University, JR, Mililani, HI, Mililani HS
Keamo ran the hottest offense in the Lone Star Conference last week as the junior setter dished out 63 assists while leading Tarleton to the two highest hitting percentages in the league this year. Keamo dealt 33 assists in Friday’s sweep of Eastern New Mexico while the TexAnn offense hit .444 against the Greyhounds for the highest hitting percentage by an LSC team this season. Keamo and the TexAnns followed suit with another sweep over Western New Mexico Saturday afternoon when Tarleton recorded the second-highest hitting percentage by an LSC team in a match this season with a .437 clip. Keamo was also an offensive force herself as she landed five kills on eight attempts with no errors for a .625 hitting performance. She also had a team-high seven service aces and six digs.
