LSC Tennis: CU's Torres recognized

Torres went 5-1 last week for the Aggies helped them reach wins against Southwestern Oklahoma, University of Mary, and Southern Nazarene.  The number-46 ranked ITA singles player went a perfect 3-0 in the two slot and only allowed opposing players five games won, while sweeping three sets.   Against the Mary she and Magdalena Kovinic swept the number-2 doubles slot 8-0 and against SNU the pair would win 8-2.
 
OTHER TOP PERFORMERS
Mariaxi Herrera, Texas A&M University - Kingsville, ranked No. 20 in the South Central region, finished 1-1 last week in singles No. 1 and 1-1 in doubles No. 1 as TAMUK defeated the University of Central Oklahoma (ranked No. 10 in Central region), 6-2, and fell to No. 33 St. Edward's... Herrera is now 4-2 in singles play and 4-2 in doubles action and is 1-1 against regionally-ranked opponents.

The number-31 ranked Aggie women went 3-0 last week with wins against against Southwestern Oklahoma, U-Mary, and Southern Nazarene.  Junior Angie Torres who is ranked number-46 in ITA singles play went 3-0 in the two slot and only allowed opposing players five games won, while sweeping three sets.  Sophomore's Magdalena Kovinic and Samantha Wood also went 3-0 in singles play.   Cameron is a perfect 4-0 to start the season and weather permitting the Aggies will host East Central on March 5 in Lawton. 

Texas A&M University – Kingsville
TAMUK went 1-1 last week against No. 33 St. Edward's (L 0-7) and Central Oklahoma (W 6-2) to improve to 3-3 on the season... the three wins are the most since the program was reinstated in 2011-12.
