Buffs Stampede Javelinas, 69-7 in Record-Setting Fashion
62-unanswered points sparked the fourth-ranked West Texas A&M football team to a record-setting 69-7 win at Texas A&M-Kingsville Saturday evening. With the win, WT improved to 4-0 on the year and 2-0 in Lone Star Conference play, while TAMUK fell to 2-1 and 0-1 in league play.
WT senior place-kicker Sergio Castillo, Jr., broke the school-record for career scoring as he tallied 15 points with two field goals and nine extra-points breaking DeWayne Miles' career record of 332 points. Castillo now has 343 career points and remained perfect on the season in both extra-points and field goals.
For the game, WT outgained TAMUK 419 to 188 as WT rushed for 118 yards and passed for 301, while holding one of the top rushing teams in the country to just 96 yards on 43 carries on the ground and the Javelinas passed for just 92 yards.
Senior quarterback Dustin Vaughan went 25 of 33 passing for 227 yards and a score as he is just 115 yards from tying the school record of 9,799 career passing yards set by Taylor Harris

Mustangs hold off A&M-Commerce, 30-24
Senior running back Keidrick Jackson rushed for 117 yards and two touchdowns to lift No. 23 Midwestern State to a 30-24 win over Texas A&M-Commerce in Lone Star Conference play Saturday night at Memorial Stadium.
It was the second consecutive road win for the Mustangs to improve to 2-1 on the season and to 1-1 in league play. A&M-Commerce falls to 2-2 and 0-2.
MSU churned out 273 on the ground on the way to 372 yards of total offense and never trailed.

No. 25 Texans Knock Off Wildcats 41-34 in Double Overtime
Tarleton State running back Jerome Regal rushed for 251 yards and two touchdowns, including the game winner as the Texans defeated Abilene Christian 41-34 in double overtime Saturday evening at Toyota Stadium in Frisco.
Regal became just the 10th player in Tarleton school history to rush for over 200 yards and the first since Roderick Smith's 204-yard effort in 2009. His 251 yards are third-most in school history, behind a pair of 260-plus yard rushing games from Derrick Ross.

Rams Fall 37-3 to No. 1 Valdosta State on the Road
Angelo State had some early miscues and couldn't recover as No. 1 Valdosta State defeated the Rams 37-3 at Bazemore-Hyder Stadium on Saturday night in front of 3,806.
The Rams (1-2) opened the game taking three of its first drives into Valdosta State (3-0) territory before miscues. An interception, fumble, punt and missed field goal turned into a 17-0 lead for the Blazers midway through the second quarter.

Big Second Half Almost Lifts Gridiron Hounds to Upset at Cardinals
After having two onsides kicks overturned by penalty late in the fourth quarter, the Eastern New Mexico University football team (1-2) made a big defensive stand deep in its own territory to set up a final possession, but dropped a hard fought 33-26 decision at NCAA Division I University of the Incarnate Word (3-2), Saturday at Benson Field. Entering the contest, the Cardinals had defeated their two previous non-Division I opponents by a combined 93-0 score.
