LSC Track & Field All-Academic team announced

Texas A&M-Commerce’s Alex Kimp and Harding’s Ewa Zaborowska were tabbed Lone Star Conference Academic Athletes of the Year on Monday when league officials announced the LSC’s annual academic awards for men’s and women’s outdoor track and field.

Kimp led a group of 11 track and field standouts on the LSC Men’s All-Academic Team, while Zaborowska, who was also the indoor academic athlete of the year, was joined by 11 stars on the LSC Women’s All-Academic Team.

To be eligible for LSC academic honors, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.30 grade point average and have reached sophomore status both athletically and academically. The Academic Player of Year award and All-Academic Team are selected from the list of academically qualified players, with the league’s sports information directors voting on the basis of both academic and athletic achievement.

Joining Kimp on the men’s all-academic team was West Texas A&M’s Dylan Doss, Patrick Schueuchzer, and Alexander Korn, Harding’s Chris Safley and Logan Green, Abilene Christian’s Matthew Stark, Incarnate Word’s Chris DeWitt, Angelo State’s Nick Alejandro and Dylan Littlejohn, and Texas A&M-Kingsville’s Trevor Engel.

Kimp and Stark were both repeat selections.

On the women’s team with Zaborowska were teammate Kristen Celsor, ASU’s Emeline Crutcher and Jordan Gray, Midwestern State’s Cara Mack and Michelle Krezonoski, WT’s Emma Love and Brenda Sindet, ACU’s Emily Hill, UIW’s Zariah Noyola and Shaneve Swift, and TAMUK’s Samantha Alvarez.

Alvarez earned a spot on the all-academic team for the third consecutive year, while Crutcher, Mack and Swift were repeat choices.

Overall, 23 men and women were selected to the All-Academic teams.
