West Texas A&M’s Dylan Doss and Tarleton State’s Lindsey Hinton were named the 2013 Lone Star Conference Cross Country Runners of the Year. The awards were announced Wednesday following a vote of the league's head coaches.
The Buffaloes Doss earned the men’s award by unanimous vote, while the TexAnns Hinton was the female honoree.
Doss, a junior from Carlsbad, Texas, finished 43rd at the NCAA Division II National Championships with a time of 31:22.5. The performance followed a 15th place finish at the regional and the individual title at the LSC Championships to lead WT to its first league title.
Hinton, a senior from Denton, Texas, crossed the finish line 59th overall with a time of 22:10.3 at the national meet. She paced Tarleton at regionals (17th) and finished first at the LSC Championships.
