Angelo State and Texas A&M-Kingsville both saw their seasons end at the NCAA Division II Baseball South Central Regional in Warrensburg, Mo.
ASU (40-17) opened the regional with a 7-2 loss to Southern Arkansas, and then dropped a 13-10 decision to St. Edward’s. The Rams advanced to the regional tournament for the third time in program history after winning the Lone Star Conference championship and tournament titles. ASU didn’t lose more than two games in a row this season and won 40 games or more for the fourth time since the program was started in 2005.
TAMUK (31-18) started the regional with an 8-4 defeat against St. Mary’s, before being eliminated by top seed and host Central Missouri, 10-5. The Javelinas finished the season as only the third team in school history to play in a regional tournament.
