Tarleton State, Midwestern State and West Texas A&M were selected to participate in NCAA Division II Women’s Golf West Super Regional in Litchfield Park, Ariz., May 6-8. The three-day, 54-hole regional will be held at Wigwam Resort, hosted by Grand Canyon University.
Incarnate Word’s Flower Castillo, the individual medalist at the Lone Star Conference Championship, qualified as an individual as well.
Each super regional will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently with nine teams and four individuals from non-qualifying teams at each site. The top three teams along with the top three individuals not with a team from each super regional will advance to the championships.
The 2012 NCAA Division II Women’s Golf Championships will be held May 16-19, at Persimmon Ridge Golf Course in Louisville, Ky., as part of the 2012 Division II Spring Championships Festival. The Festival will be hosted by Bellarmine and the Louisville Sports Commission. The championships will consist of both team and individual competition conducted concurrently. All participants will compete throughout the entire 72 holes of competition. In the team competition, the low four scores for each team will count in each day’s total score.
