Four Lone Star Conference softball teams were selected for the 2012 NCAA Division II South Central Regional.
Angelo State, Texas Woman’s, Abilene Christian and Incarnate Word, the LSC Tournament Champions, each captured a spot in the eight-team regional field which will be played at two four-team sites.
ASU, the LSC Champions, will host one of four-team, double-elimination regional’s May 4-6, while Central Oklahoma, will host the other.
Rounding out the field is Emporia State and Missouri Western from the Mid America Intercollegiate Athletics Association and St. Edward’s from the Heartland Conference.
Joining the top-seed Rambelles in San Angelo, Texas, are MWSU, TWU and SEU, while ESU, ACU and UIW connect with UCO in Edmond, Okla.
The winners of the two four-team, double elimination tournaments will meet at the site of the highest remaining seed for a three-game Super Regional to be held May 11-12.
The finals will be held May 16-19 at Knights Field in Louisville, Ky., as part of the 2012 Division II Spring Championships Festival. The Festival will be hosted by Bellarmine and the Louisville Sports Commission.
