Tarleton State had many contributors in the three wins to claim their first-ever LSC Tournament title, but the Most Valuable Player award went to sophomore guard Peyton Adamson, the only Tarleton player in double-figure scoring for all three games.
Adamson had 44 points in the tournament, including 15 in the tournament final against Incarnate Word. Adamson scored 16 in the quarterfinal win over Eastern New Mexico and 13 against Angelo State in the semifinals. Entering the tournament as the nation’s leading free-throw shooter at .931, Adamson made 14-of-16 this weekend, including the game-clinching charity toss with eight seconds to play Sunday in the 48-44 win over UIW.
A sophomore transfer from Missouri-Kansas City, Adamson is in her first season with the TexAnns.
