It’s not every day the tournament MVP comes off the bench, but David Terrell is an exception to the rule. Terrell also had an exceptional three games in the LSC Championship, including Saturday night’s tournament final against the Tarleton State.
Like he always does, Terrell played above the rim, with 12 points on four dunks. He also grabbed five rebounds and had five steals to help the Mustangs claim the title with a 57-51 win over the Texans for the school’s fourth LSC tournament title in six years and sixth overall.
Terrell was named the tournament’s MVP, scoring 7.7 points, six rebounds and three blocks and five steals among the three victories this weekend.
The All-tournament team also included MSU teammates JaMichael Rivers and Michael Loyd. Rivers hit a clutch 3-pointer with 3:49 to play to give MSU a lead it wouldn’t relinquish.
Two Tarleton State players made the All-tournament team – Brian Word and Fabian Wilson.
