Abilene Christian’s Alex Carpenter and
Tarleton State’s Carla Cooper were honored as Lone Star
Conference Players of the Year Sunday night as the league’s
annual postseason golf awards were announced at the championships
banquet, held in conjunction with the LSC Championships at WinStar
Golf Course.
League officials announced the
all-conference teams and individual awards at the banquet. This
marks the sixth year for golf’s postseason awards to be voted
on by league coaches. Before, all-conference honors had been
determined only by results at the LSC tournament.
Carpenter has recorded three wins
along with five top-10 finishes in nine tournaments with a 71.77
scoring average. With eight top-17 finishes, the freshman is
ranked No. 1 in the South Central Region by Golfstat.
