Men’s Golf Championships: Cameron leads after first round

Cameron holds a two-shot advantage after recording a five-over par 293 during the first round at the Lone Star Conference Men’s Golf Championships.  The annual league event, which features 10 men's teams, is being held at WinStar Golf Course in Thackerville, Okla.

The field battled cold and wet weather conditions Sunday at the par 72, 7,272-yard course, as only three players shot even par or better.

Central Oklahoma (295) and Midwestern State (296) lead a pack of four schools within five shots of the Aggies.  Abilene Christian and Northeastern State are just off the pace at 10-over par (298).

MSU’s Travis Klutts leads the individual leader board with a four-under 68.  His round included three birdies and one eagle.  CU’s Michael Lee (71) and ACU’s Cyril Bouniol (72) are in second and third place individually.

Play continues on Tuesday with the second round tee times beginning at 10:42 a.m.
