Northeastern State fell to Emporia State, 76-45, in the NCAA
Division II South Central Regional championship game to end their
memorable season with a 28-7 record.
The Lady Hornets took a 30-17 lead into halftime and quickly
increased the margin to 24 points with five three-pointers in the
first five minutes of the second half.
ESU made 26-of-55 (.473) field goal attempts, while NSU was
17-for-63 (.270) from the field.
Senior Jessica White had 15 points to lead the RiverHawks, who
were making their second appearance in the regional final (2004).
The Lady Hornets advance to the Elite Eight March 23 in St.
Joseph, Mo., against the Michigan Tech-Drury winner from the
Midwest Region.
