CANYON, Texas - West Texas A&M Lady Buff Ceciley Johnson, was named the LSC South defensive player of the week for her performance in WT's two wins over Eastern New Mexico last week. This is the first time this season for Johnson to earn the accolade.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Even with an explosive offensive start at the plate, the Lady Buffs were unable to top the St. Edward's Hilltoppers in game one of the doubleheader Sunday morning. Two errors committed in the first and second innings would lead to four unearned Hilltopper runs. The Lady Buffs drop to 2-3 overall with the loss.

The West Texas A&M Buffaloes started off their season on a good not on Sunday afternoon, defeating McMurry University, 7-4, on a drizzly and cold day at Driggers Field in Abilene, Texas. The win improves the Buffs to 1-0 while McMurry falls to 0-1 in the season opener for both teams.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - Coming off a decisive win against Cameron in the morning, the West Texas A&M Lady Buffs were unable to top host St. Mary's in over a three hour and forty minute grueling match between the two schools. Even though the Lady Buffs struck first, they were unable to bring home the win and fall to 2-2 overall.

SAN ANTONIO, Texas - An early eight run lead in the bottom of the first inning lead the Lady Buffs to a decisive, 11-0, victory over Cameron early Saturday morning. With the win, the Lady Buffs improve to 2-1 overall.

Canyon, Texas - West Texas A&M jumped to a 10-0 start Saturday evening, then held off second half rally by Eastern New Mexico to take a 67-49 win in front of 1,677 at the First United Bank Center in Canyon, Texas.The win breaks a WTAMU four-game losing skid and improves their record to 12-10 overall, 3-4 in LSC South play, while ENMU falls to 8-13 overall, 3-4 LSC South. The two teams are now tied for fourth place in the LSC South standings.
