Incarnate Word is joining the Lone Star Conference

Effective July 1, 2010, the University of the Incarnate Word will join the LSC.  The LSC - founded on April 25, 1931 - has grown from a five-team conference of Texas-based schools to a 16-member league that spans three states (Texas, Oklahoma and New Mexico).

Kathleen Brasfield

Angelo State University  Director of Athletics Kathleen Brasfield is currently the Chair of the NCAA Division II Management Council.  The Management Council, which reports directly to the Presidents Council, is the division's primary policy-making governance body.

Dr. J. Patrick O’Brien

West Texas A&M University President Dr. J. Patrick O’Brien is one of 15 members of the NCAA Division II President’s Council.  He is only only the second LSC President to serve on that council.

Texas A&M-Kingsville

Texas A&M-Kingsville (formerly Texas A&I) has had three former players selected for enshrinement into the Pro Football Hall of Fame.  All-American defensive lineman John Randle will become the third Javelina to be inducted (2010) in Canton, Ohio.  He joins offensive lineman Gene Upshaw and defensive back Darrell Green.
